What happens in Children’s Ministry at Sunset Park Community Church of God?
Sundays, infants and toddlers ages 0-4 have loving, caring attendants during worship services and Sunday School. We keep your children safe through following established guidelines regarding training, staff ratio, and background checks for all our childcare ministry workers. An usher will notify you if your child needs your attention during the service.
Kids in grades k-6 have Sunday School classes designed just for them. Using songs, games, and a variety of great curriculum, children are taught about a loving God and His wonderful creation. During the main worship service at 11:00 a.m., kids in grades k-4 are dismissed part way through the service to go to “Kids Zone”, a fun worship experience at their level.
In the summer, Sunday School takes on a fun new theme each year. And this year, we are planning a full week of excitement and learning at Vacation Bible School! Watch for more details and dates.
Our children are invited to attend the Church of God Camp for our region, Camp White Branch. Beginning with a Parent-Child Camp for grades 1-2, there are camps for each grade level (Primary grades 3-4, Junior grades 5-6, and Middle School and High School) throughout the summer, in beautiful McKenzie Bridge. Our Christian Education department sponsors fundraisers throughout the year to help families with the cost of camp, as well as helping to arrange for transportation.
We believe strongly in the unity and importance of family. Therefore children are always welcomed to stay with their parents during any class or worship service. We don’t mind a little fussing…we’re just glad you’re here!
